Dallas, Wisconsin is a small town located in the southeast corner of the state. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. Dallas is home to one major employer, a paper mill that has been in operation since 1892. The town's other main economic driver is its real estate industry.

The Dallas area was first settled in 1836 by members of the Potawatomi tribe who were fleeing persecution in Michigan. The community was originally called "Pine Ridge." In 1854, the town was renamed for President James K. Polk after he had won an election by a wide margin.

In 1888, the Milwaukee Railroad reached Dallas and began to bring settlers and businesses into the area. A paper mill was built that same year and became one of Dallas' major employers. Other businesses that were established in Dallas during this time included a flour mill, a foundry, and a shoe factory.

In 1907, construction began on what would become known as "The Castle," an iconic building located downtown that served as both a hotel and office building until it closed its doors in 2002.
