Orfordville, WI

Orfordville is a small town located in the northwest corner of Waukesha County, Wisconsin. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Waukesha metropolitan area.

The town was founded in 1849 by Seth Orford and named for his home county of Norfolk, England. The first settler arrived in 1851 and Orfordville became an incorporated village in 1865. The town's economy was based on agriculture until the early 20th century when it began to develop as a bedroom community for Milwaukee. In recent years, Orfordville has seen a resurgence in its economy as a result of its proximity to Madison and other larger cities.
