Naranjito is a municipality in Puerto Rico located in the central mountain range, north of Orocovis and Comerío; south of Toa Baja and Bayamón; east of Barceloneta and Vega Baja; and west of Morovis. The town is spread over 8 wards and Naranjito Pueblo (The main downtown area and the administrative center of the town). It is part of the San Juan- Caguas- Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Naranjito was founded on June 12, 1824 by Don Tomás Pizarro. It is known as "El Pueblo de los Naranjitos" (The Town of the Orange Trees). The city seal has an orange blossom in it. Geographically, it is part of the Cordillera Central (Central Mountain Range) in Puerto Rico. Naranjito is about 30 to 45 minutes from San Juan, depending on traffic conditions.

According to the 2010 Census, Naranjito has a population of 34,062 inhabitants. In 2019, its estimated population was 36,542[1] inhabitants living in an area of 19 square miles (49 km2). The density was 1,872 persons per square mile (722/km2). As per 2010 census data,[2] 78% identify themselves as white while 17% identify themselves as black or African American. 3% identify themselves as Amerindian or Indigenous peoples. There are also small Asian American,[3] Middle Eastern American,[4][5] South Asian American,[6][7] and Latino populations.[8][9][10]
