County:
San Sebastián is a municipality in the northeastern region of Puerto Rico, on the island's north coast. It is bordered by the municipalities of Isla Verde and Carolina to the east, Loíza to the north, Canóvanas and Río Grande to the south, and Las Piedras to the west. The town is also home to Playa Sucia, a popular beach destination.
In recent years, San Sebastián has become known for its innovative real estate investing opportunities. In particular, investors have been drawn to the municipality's "Opportunity Zones" program, which offers tax incentives for investments in certain areas of town.
To date, Opportunity Zones have been established in two neighborhoods in San Sebastián: Playa Sucia and Downtown. Both zones offer investors significant tax breaks on their capital gains, as well as other benefits such as access to low-interest loans and preferential treatment for government contracts.
So far, the Opportunity Zones program has been a success in attracting new investment to San Sebastián. In 2018 alone, over $100 million dollars worth of projects were approved for development in the municipality's two Opportunity Zones. And with more zones set to be created in 2019, that number is expected to grow even larger.
If you're looking for an innovative real estate investment opportunity with great potential returns, San Sebastián's Opportunity Zones are definitely worth considering.
