Toa Alta is a municipality in northern Puerto Rico (U.S.), on the Central Mountain range, north of Naranjito and Comerio; east of Bayamon and west of Carolina. According to the 2010 census, the city has a population of 43,251 inhabitants.

The municipality covers an area of 74 square kilometers (28 square miles) and is subdivided into nine wards. Toa Alta is part of the San Juan- Caguas- Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The economy of Toa Alta is based on agriculture (mainly sugar cane and coffee), manufacturing (pharmaceuticals, chemicals, metal products) and tourism. The town celebrates its patron saint festival in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in July. Other festivals include Three Kings Day, Carnival and Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day.
