Martin County, Texas is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 12,895. The county seat is Stanton. The county was created in 1876 and later organized in 1884. It is named for James Martin, an early settler who donated land for the county seat.[1]
The majority of Martin County's economy is based on agriculture and ranching; however, there are also some interesting real estate opportunities to be found here. For example, the city of Stanton has been working to revitalize its downtown area, which offers investors the chance to buy into a growing community. There are also several large tracts of land available for development outside of town, which could be perfect for those interested in creating new subdivisions or other types of housing developments.
