Fort Polk South, LA

There is no doubt that the housing market in the Fort Polk South, LA metropolitan statistical area (MSA) has been on a roller coaster ride over the past few years. After reaching an all-time high in 2006, home prices in the MSA began to plummet, and by 2012, they had fallen by more than 50%. However, since bottoming out in 2012, home prices have been on the rebound and have increased by more than 20% over the past two years.

There are a number of factors that have contributed to this rebound in home prices. First and foremost, there has been an increase in demand for housing in the MSA as job growth has picked up. Additionally, many people who were previously renting have decided to purchase homes as prices remain relatively affordable. Another factor that has helped to drive up prices is the low inventory of homes for sale. This is especially true at the lower end of the market where there are more buyers than sellers.

Looking ahead, it is difficult to say where home prices will go from here. However, if job growth continues and interest rates stay low, it is likely that we will see further increases in home prices across the MSA.
