Kensett, AR

Kensett is a small town located in Benton County, Arkansas. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. Kensett is home to the historic Benton County Courthouse and Jail. The town's economy is based on agriculture and real estate.

The first settlers in what would become Kensett arrived in 1836. The town was named for Colonel James Kents, a Revolutionary War veteran who settled in the area. In 1881, the railroad came to Kensett and it began to grow rapidly as a result. Today, the town is still home to many businesses that were founded during its early days, including a bank, grocery store, hardware store, and several restaurants.
