Menlo Park is a city located in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the United States. The population was 28,938 at the 2010 census. Menlo Park was founded in 1884 by John D. Rockefeller, Sr., and named after his son, Menlo Park Rockefeller. The city has been known for its technology industry, which began in the 1940s with companies such as Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel Corporation. Today, many of these same companies are among the largest employers in the city.

The Menlo Park Civic Center is home to a variety of cultural events including concerts by major artists and ballet performances by San Francisco Ballet.
