Oak Park is a city located in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Contra Costa County, California. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 66,735. Oak Park was founded by Henry E. Huntington and is named after his father, Colonel Robert C. Huntington. The town's main thoroughfare is Oak Park Avenue which runs through the center of town from east to west and north to south. The eastern terminus of State Route 24 (the Richmond- San Rafael Bridge) is located in Oak Park just south of the town limits; Interstate 80 crosses over Oak Park Avenue just west of downtown.
