Pinole's Housing Market: Trends and Forecasts

Pinole is a small town located in the East Bay Area of California. The population of Pinole was 17,814 as of the 2010 census. Pinole is located in Contra Costa County and is bordered by Pittsburg to the north, Richmond to the east, and Antioch to the south.

The town of Pinole was founded in 1887 by Elisha P. Ketchum and his wife, Abigail Scott Duniway. The town was named after a small community in New Hampshire that Ketchum had visited on a trip westward. Early settlers in Pinole included dairy farmers and orchardists who raised cattle, pigs, and chickens. In 1907, the first brick building in Pinole was erected by J.D. Webster & Co., a local hardware store chain that remains an important part of the local economy today.

Today, much of Pinole's economy revolves around its thriving retail sector which includes several large chain stores as well as locally owned businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies, clothing stores, bakeries and restaurants. Additionally, due to its close proximity to major urban areas such as Oakland and San Francisco (both less than an hour away), Pinole has seen significant growth over recent years with new housing developments being built both near the city center as well as further out into suburban neighborhoods. This rapid growth has led to increased pressure on infrastructure including roads, schools and utilities which have all struggled to keep up with demand; however recent investments from both local and state government have helped ease some of these pressures somewhat.

Real estate in Pinole is dominated by single-family homes which make up roughly two-thirds of all housing units; apartments are relatively scarce although they are becoming more common throughout Contra Costa County due to increasing demand for rental properties from young professionals who want easy access to urban amenities without having to live downtown or within walking distance of popular nightlife districts。 Single family homes typically range from modest starter homes priced around $200K - $300K up towards larger 5-6 unit apartment complexes located closer to city centers or commercial areas。 Properties within walking distance of shopping malls or major highways tend to be more expensive than those located further out into suburban neighborhoods。 The median price for single family homes sold in 2016 was $269K while condos sold for a median price of $259K。
