Rowland Heights, CA

Rowland Heights is a suburban city located in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County, California. The population was estimated at 103,924 in 2015 by the United States Census Bureau. Rowland Heights is home to two major shopping malls: The Promenade at Rowland Hills and The Shops at La Palma.

The city was incorporated on October 14, 1957. It is named for Judge Roy S. Rowland of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to incorporation, the area that now makes up Rowland Heights was part of neighboring Pomona and Claremont.

Rowland Heights has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters due to its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean and high elevation (1,800 feet).
