Kersey, CO

Kersey is a small town located in Weld County, Colorado. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. Kersey is home to the Kersey Mill Museum and the Kersey Historic District.

The first settlers in what would become Kersey arrived in 1876. The town was named for John C. Kersey, a railroad official who helped finance the construction of the railroad through Weld County. The town's early economy was based on agriculture and mining, but by the early 1900s Kersey had diversified into manufacturing and services.

Today, Kersey is still a small town with a strong agricultural base. However, it has also developed into a bedroom community for people working in nearby Denver and Fort Collins. There are several businesses located in downtown Kersey that cater to tourists and residents alike, including a grocery store, bank, restaurant, barbershop, and hardware store.

The real estate market in Kersey is generally stable and prices have been increasing modestly over the past few years. This is likely due to both low unemployment rates in Weld County as well as limited new development opportunities within the town itself. As such, most homes currently available for sale are either older homes that have been updated or newly constructed homes that offer more features than typical properties found elsewhere in Weld County.
