Altamonte Springs, FL

Altamonte Springs is a city located in Seminole County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 24,912. It is part of the Orlando- Kissimmee- Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Altamonte Springs area was first settled in 1875 by John and Mary Ann Brown. The town was originally called "Brownsville" after its founders. In 1887, J.C. Penney built his first store in Altamonte Springs and it became a major shopping center for Central Florida residents. In 1924, Altamonte Springs incorporated as a city and it has since grown to become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Central Florida with its many upscale shopping districts and restaurants.

Real estate in Altamonte Springs is highly sought after due to its close proximity to Walt Disney World Resort as well as other theme parks such as Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando Resort.
