Lakeshore, FL

Lakeshore is a small town located in Volusia County, Florida. The population was 2,849 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Deltona– Daytona Beach– Ormond Beach, FL Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The town of Lakeshore was founded in 1892 by two brothers, Charles and John Lutz. The brothers were originally from Germany and had come to America to start a new life. They purchased land near the St Johns River and built a small farmhouse on it. In 1902, they built a general store which became the center of activity in the community.

In 1916, Lakeshore was incorporated as a town with a population of just over 200 people. At that time, there were only three businesses in town: the Lutz store, an ice cream shop run by Mrs. Aileen McNamara (who later became known as "the mother of Lakeshore"), and a hotel operated by Mr. and Mrs. Jules Gorman (later renamed the Gorman Hotel).

The early years of Lakeshore were tough - there was no infrastructure or services available to support such a small community and there was little economic opportunity for residents due to the lack of transportation options other than walking or horseback riding. However, thanks to hard work and dedication from its residents, Lakeshore gradually began to grow into what it is today - an thriving small town with plenty of opportunities for its citizens!

Today, Lakeshore is home to several businesses including two banks (the First National Bank & Trust Company and SunTrust Bank), two restaurants (Pizza Hut and Subway), two convenience stores (CVS Pharmacy & Gas Station and 7-Eleven), one salon (Salon One), one barbershop/beauty shop (Hair Cuttery), one hardware store (Home Depot), one insurance company ( Liberty Mutual Insurance Company) as well as several other smaller businesses which support local needs such as plumbing supplies & repairs, car repair & maintenance services etc.. There are also several churches located in Lakeshore including Baptist Church Fellowship International Fellowship Church , Christ United Methodist Church , Covenant Presbyterian Church , First Presbyterian Church , Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church .

As you can see, there are many different types of businesses available in Lakeshore which supports both its residents' needs as well as those of its visitors/customers who come into town for shopping or entertainment purposes..
