Fort Benning, GA

Fort Benning, GA is a sprawling military installation located in Columbus County. The base has a population of over 30,000 people and covers an area of over 1,000 acres. It is home to the United States Army Infantry School, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, and the United States Military Academy. Fort Benning also houses several other military installations including the National Training Center and the Special Operations Forces Center.

Real estate in Fort Benning is very expensive due to its proximity to major metropolitan areas such as Atlanta and Savannah. However, there are a number of affordable neighborhoods available if you are willing to commute. The most popular areas to live on base are Hilltop Village and Post Village which both have moderate prices and plenty of amenities such as grocery stores, pharmacies, churches, schools, parks and recreational facilities. If you want to live closer to work or school then you will need to look for properties in either Soldier Town or West Point Village which have higher prices but offer more space.
