Boone, IA

Boone is a small town located in Boone County, Iowa. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Boone County.

The first settlers arrived in Boone in 1836. The town was platted in 1857 and named for Daniel Boone, the famous frontiersman. The town grew rapidly after the arrival of the railroad in 1872 and became an important commercial center for southwestern Iowa.

Today, Boone is a thriving community with a strong economy based on agriculture and manufacturing. The downtown area features several historic buildings and businesses, including a bank, grocery store, hardware store, restaurant, hotel and several other small businesses. There are also several parks and recreational facilities available to residents of Boone.

Real estate in Boone is primarily residential with a few commercial properties scattered throughout the town. Prices for homes range from around $100K to well over $1 million depending on location and size. There are also a number of apartments available for rent throughout the town as well as some condos/townhouses that can be purchased outright or leased through landlords
