New Century, KS

New Century is a small town located in the southeast corner of Kansas. The population was just over 1,000 in 2010 and has been slowly growing since then. The town is situated on the eastern edge of the Flint Hills and is surrounded by farmland. New Century was founded in 1887 and became a city in 1907.

The economy of New Century is based largely on agriculture, with crops such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and cattle being the main products. However, due to its location near Wichita and Topeka, there has been a recent growth in tourism as well. There are several restaurants and hotels in the area that cater to tourists who are looking for something different to do.

Real estate in New Century is primarily made up of single-family homes and apartments. The average price for a home was $128,500 in 2016 according to Zillow data. The majority of homes were built between 1970 and 2000; however there are some newer homes available as well. There is also a limited amount of commercial real estate available; however this may change as the town grows larger.
