Stockbridge is a small town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, located about halfway between Boston and New York City. The population was 10,811 at the 2010 census. Stockbridge is home to many affluent families and has a high concentration of millionaires. The town's economy is based on real estate, with many homes and estates being sold or rented out.

The town's history can be traced back to 1634 when it was first settled by English Puritans led by Rev. John Eliot. The area was known as " Stoneham" until 1727 when it was renamed after Sir Richard Stockbridge, an English soldier who had fought in the War of the Spanish Succession and later served as Governor of Jamaica. In 1775, during the American Revolution, Stockbridge played an important role in the Battle of Bunker Hill.
