Hudson, MI

Hudson is a city located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 20,868. The city is situated on the eastern shore of Hudson Bay and is part of the Saginaw- Bay City Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The first Europeans to visit what would become Hudson were French traders in 1668. The area was explored by fur traders in the early 1800s and by missionaries in 1825. The town was founded in 1836 and named for General Henry Halleck, who commanded Union forces during the American Civil War. In 1871, Hudson became a village and incorporated as a city in 1903.

Today, Hudson is an industrial center with several manufacturing plants and distribution centers located within its limits. It also has a significant retail sector, including several large department stores and numerous small businesses. Tourism is also an important part of the economy, with visitors drawn to its natural resources (including lakes, forests, and wildlife) and historical attractions (including Fort Halleck National Historic Site).

Real estate in Hudson occupies an important role in its economy; according to recent estimates, approximately one-third of all jobs in the city are related to real estate activities. This high concentration of employment has led to high demand for housing stock; according to recent estimates, there are currently more than 1,000 homes available for sale within city limits alone! In addition to housing availability, real estate markets vary significantly from area to area within Hudson; accordingly, it can be difficult for buyers or sellers looking for properties outside of downtown or other central areas to find what they are looking for.
