Union is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Superior, about halfway between Marquette and Houghton. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. Union was first settled in 1837 by settlers from New York. The town was named for the United States union flag.
