The history of Lincoln Park can be traced back to 1818 when the area was first surveyed by General Henry Dearborn. In 1837, landowner John Allen donated land for what would become the village of Lincoln Park. In 1871, Ford Motor Company opened its first plant in the United States here, and by 1925, it had become one of the world's largest manufacturers.
