Lincoln Park, MI

Lincoln Park is a city located in Oakland County, Michigan. The population was 21,898 at the 2010 census. Lincoln Park is known for its large number of single-family homes and its proximity to downtown Detroit. The city has a strong economy based on the automotive industry and health care.

The history of Lincoln Park can be traced back to 1818 when the area was first surveyed by General Henry Dearborn. In 1837, landowner John Allen donated land for what would become the village of Lincoln Park. The village was incorporated as a town in 1847 and became known as "the Athens of America" because of its many colleges and universities. In 1871, Ford Motor Company opened its first plant in the United States here, and by 1925, it had become one of the world's largest manufacturers. Today, Lincoln Park is home to several major companies including DTE Energy, Quicken Loans Inc., Compuware Corporation and 3M Company.

The city's economy is based largely on two industries: automotive manufacturing and health care services. Automotive manufacturing accounts for more than 25% of the city's GDP; while health care services contribute more than 20%.
