Sleepy Eye, MN

Sleepy Eye is a small town located in the southwestern part of Minnesota. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. Sleepy Eye is home to the Sleepy Eye Lumberjack Museum, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016.

Sleepy Eye is located on U.S. Highway 12 and State Highway 10, about halfway between Minneapolis and Fargo, North Dakota. The town has a small commercial district along Main Street with a grocery store, hardware store, gas station, and bank branch. There are also several restaurants in the downtown area including a pizza place, diner, and bar/nightclub.

The Sleepy Eye area was first settled by Norwegian immigrants in 1871 who established farms and lumber mills near what is now the Sleepy Eye Lumberjack Museum.
