Hernando, MS

Hernando is a city located in the northwestern corner of Mississippi. The population was 17,811 at the 2010 census. The city is named for Manuel de Hinojosa y Rodríguez, viceroy of New Spain from 1785 to 1788.

The city's economy is based on agriculture and manufacturing. Manufacturing includes food processing, automotive parts and accessories, and chemicals. Agriculture includes cotton production, poultry farming, cattle ranching, and soybean production.
