Eagle Rock is a small town located in the northeast corner of St. Louis County, Missouri. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Eagle Rock is known for its historic architecture and its proximity to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.

The history of Eagle Rock can be traced back to 1857 when the area was first settled by pioneers from Kentucky. The town was originally called "Pine Grove" after a grove of pine trees that stood near the original settlement site. In 1871, the name was changed to " Eagle Rock" after a large rock located on a hill overlooking the town became known as "Eagle's Nest". The rock is still visible today and can be found just south of downtown Eagle Rock.

In 1909, Eagle Rock became home to Strayer University, which later became Saint Louis University- Eagle Rock Campus. During World War II, Eagle Rock served as an assembly point for troops heading to Europe and Asia in support of the war effort. In 1947, Interstate 44 was completed and passed through Eagle Rock, connecting St. Louis with Kansas City and Chicago. This event led to an increase in population and commerce in the town; businesses such as Kmart, Sears Roebuck & Co., JCPenney Department Store, Woolworths Department Store, Kresge's Department Store opened up in EagleRock during this time period.
