The history of Marble Hill can be traced back to 1806 when a group of settlers from Kentucky settled on what is now known as Main Street. The town began to grow rapidly in the early 1900s due to its location near major transportation routes and its proximity to St. Louis. By 1920, Marble Hill had reached its peak population of 4,000 residents. However, due to suburbanization and other factors, Marble Hill's population has declined steadily since then and currently stands at just over 9,000 residents.
