Patton, MO

When people think of Missouri, they often think of the big cities like St. Louis and Kansas City. However, there is a lot to see and do in the state besides these major metropolitan areas. One place that is definitely worth checking out is Patton, Missouri.

Patton is a small town located in southwestern Missouri just off Interstate 55. It has a population of just over 2,000 people and boasts an interesting history dating back to the early 1800s. The town was originally founded by General James Patton who fought in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War. After his death, Patton was buried in a cemetery on Main Street which still stands today.

Today, Patton is known for its historic buildings and its proximity to several nature preserves including Caney Creek State Park and Big Muddy National River & Recreation Area. Additionally, Patton is home to several businesses including a brewery, winery, bakery, law firm and insurance company which have helped make it one of the most prosperous towns in southwestern Missouri.
