Harrison is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,811,[10] reflecting an increase of 1,972 (+27.5%) from the 7,898 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,716 (+39.4%) from the 5,711 counted in the 1990 Census.[19]

The borough was incorporated on February 14th 1798 as part of Bergen County,[20] and named for General James Harrison (1736-1818), who served as Commander-in-Chief of American forces during the Revolutionary War and later became Governor of Ohio.[21][22][23] The General James Harrison House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 8th 1978.[24]
