Hazlet, NJ

Hazlet is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,827,[1][2] reflecting an increase of 524 (+5.4%) from the 9,906 counted in the 2000 Census.[3]

The borough was formed on April 1, 1894, from portions of Freehold Township and Howell Township.[4] Hazlet is located at (40.711695,-74.847269).[5]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 2.653 square miles (6.977 km2), including 2.649 square miles (6.965 km2) of land and 0.031 square mile (0.087 km2) of water (0.10%).[6]

The Census Bureau's 2006-2010 American Community Survey showed that (in 2010 inflation-adjusted dollars) median household income was $101,375 (+/- $14,875), with about 17% of households earning less than $50,000 and 36% earning more.[7] Males had a median income of $87,750 (+/- $13,750) versus $60,000 for females.[7] The per capita income for the borough was $41,574 (+/- $5,868). About 4% of families and 6% of the population were below the poverty line,[7] including 7% of those under age 18 and 3% of those age 65 or over.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]
