Manasquan, NJ

Manasquan is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 9,812,[10][11] reflecting an increase of 1,539 (+27.4%) from the 6,959 counted in the 2000 Census.[12]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 2.853 square miles (7.241 km2), including 2.853 square miles (7.241 km2) of land and 0.013 square mile (0.03 km2) of water (0.09%).[14]

The borough borders Neptune City and Wall Township to the north; Long Branch to the east; Hazlet Township to the south; and Holmdel Township to the west.[15][16][17] The Manasquan River forms its eastern border.[18][19] The name " Manasquan" is derived from a Lenni Lenape word meaning "place where there are many sturgeon".[20][21]

The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Manasquan has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[22]
