Warren is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,827,[10] reflecting an increase of 551 (+5.1%) from the 9,922 counted in the 2000 Census.[19]
Warren was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 3, 1894,[20] from portions of Mendham Township.[21][22] The borough was named for General Joseph Warren (1741-1817), who served in the American Revolution and later became Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
The borough is located at 40°24′N 74°57′W / 40.40000°N 74.89000°W / 40.40000; -74.89000 (40.416711,-74.906944).[23] According to the United States Census Bureau, Warren has a total area of 2.7 square miles (6.9 km2), all land.[24]
As of the census[25] of 2000, there were 9,922 people, 3,532 households, and 2,898 families residing in the borough; The population density was 1,814 people per square mile (708/km²). There were 3,754 housing units at an average density of 612 per square mile (236/km²).
