Woodbury is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,827,[9][10] reflecting an increase of 514 (+5.4%) from the 9,848 counted in the 2000 Census,[11] which had in turn increased by 1,723 (+15.2%) from the 8,191 counted in the 1990 Census.[12]

The borough was incorporated on February 21, 1894,[13] and named for Woodbury Township,[14] one of the original nine townships that formed Morris County.[15][16][17][18] The township was named for Colonel John Woodbury who served as Governor of New Jersey from 1792 to 1795.[19][20]

According to the United States Census Bureau, Woodbury has a total area of 2.1 square miles (5.6 km2), all of it land.[1]

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 9,848 people, 3,792 households and 2,921 families residing in the borough. The population density was 1,790.4 people per square mile (695.3/km²).
