Central Islip is a suburban town located in Suffolk County, New York. The population was 103,851 at the 2010 census. Central Islip is part of the Greater New York metropolitan area.

The town was first settled in 1639 by Dutch colonists who named it " Islip". The town was incorporated on April 11, 1894. Central Islip is home to two major shopping malls: the Suffolk County Plaza and the Galleria at Main Street. There are also many restaurants and businesses located in Central Islip.
