Dobbs Ferry, NY

Dobbs Ferry is a small town located in Westchester County, New York. The population of Dobbs Ferry was 10,868 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the White Plains– New Rochelle metropolitan area.

The town was first settled in 1798 by John Dobbs and his family. Dobbs Ferry became an important stop on the Underground Railroad in the mid-19th century. The town's economy has been based largely on real estate and tourism since its inception. Today, Dobbs Ferry is home to many notable historical buildings and attractions, including the George Washington Birthplace National Monument, which is open to visitors year-round; the Mount Kisco Golf Club; and numerous wineries and restaurants.

Real estate in Dobbs Ferry has always been an important part of the community's economy. In recent years, however, there has been a resurgence in interest in buying and living in homes here due to its proximity to major cities like New York City and White Plains, as well as its many amenities like schools, parks, shopping centers, and golf courses.
