Today, much has changed since those early days when people enjoyed walking or riding their horses through town or shopping at local stores such as Woolworths or Kresge's Department Store. Today's residents enjoy many amenities available only within close proximity to a major city – including world-class shopping malls like The Promenade at Port Jefferson Center and numerous restaurants – all while maintaining a peaceful rural atmosphere reminiscent of days gone by.
