Lake View, NY

Lake View is a small town located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. The population of Lake View was 7,819 as of the 2010 census. The town is situated on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake and is bordered by Watkins Glen to the north, Geneva to the east, and Ithaca to the south.

The history of real estate in Lake View can be traced back to 1820 when John D. Rockefeller established his first oil refinery in nearby Watkins Glen. This influx of wealth led to an increase in real estate development in Lake View and throughout upstate New York. In 1865, James Fenton founded Fenton's Furniture Store on Main Street, which would become one of the town's most iconic businesses. Today, Fenton's Furniture Store is still open for business and occupies a building that was originally built in 1892.
