Pleasantville is a small town located in Westchester County, New York. The population of Pleasantville was 17,811 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the White Plains–Plainsboro– Eastchester Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The history of Pleasantville can be traced back to 1685 when Dutch settlers established a farm on the site now occupied by the village. The area was first settled by English colonists in 1689 and was officially incorporated as a town in 1892. Pleasantville's economy has traditionally been based on agriculture and manufacturing, but it has also developed into a bedroom community for New York City residents. In recent years, Pleasantville has seen an increase in residential and commercial development due to its proximity to White Plains and Harrison (both within commuting distance).
