Linden, NC

Linden is a city located in the eastern part of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The population was 18,827 at the 2010 census. Linden is a bedroom community for Charlotte and is home to many businesses and corporations.

The city of Linden was founded in 1892 by Dr. J.W.L. McNair and James Larkin, Jr., who were both cotton farmers from Rutherford County, North Carolina. The two men decided to move their families to Linden because of its favorable location between Charlotte and Rutherford County, as well as its proximity to the Yadkin River which provided power for mills and factories in both cities.

At its inception, Linden consisted of just a few hundred residents who worked in agriculture or manufacturing; however, over time the city has grown into a thriving community with many businesses and corporations headquartered here including Bank of America Corporation (formerly NationsBank), Wells Fargo Bank, Lowe's Home Improvement Stores Inc., American Express Company, Duke Energy Corporation (formerly Progress Energy), SAS Institute Inc., Jabil Circuit Inc., NCR Corporation (formerly NCR Corp.), Toyota Motor Manufacturing USA Inc., Honda Motor Co., Ltd., General Electric Company (formerly GE Appliances), Eli Lilly & Co., 3M Company, Coca-Cola Bottling Co..

Today, Linden is home to many families who enjoy living in a safe community with plenty of amenities such as parks and recreational facilities; excellent schools; ample shopping opportunities; excellent transportation options including Interstate 85/85E which runs through the center of town; numerous churches; an extensive network of business districts that include Uptown Plaza Shopping Center on South Boulevard near I-85/85E interchange as well as several other commercial areas throughout the city including Eastwood Plaza Shopping Center on East Boulevard near I-485/I-485E interchange

As one can see from this brief overview of the history and current situation of Linden - it has continued to grow into an economically prosperous community with many businesses locating here due to its strategic location within Mecklenburg County as well as Charlotte metropolitan area

There are also several office buildings under construction or currently being developed including One South Boulevard at Uptown Plaza Shopping Center , Park Place Office Tower at Eastwood Plaza Shopping Center , Regency Square Office Tower at Regency Square Business Park . These developments are expected to bring much needed jobs and additional tax revenue into the City Of Linden
