Morrisville is a small town located in western North Carolina. The population of Morrisville was just over 10,000 as of the 2010 census. Morrisville is located in Burke County and is bordered by the towns of Mount Airy to the north, Randleman to the east, and Lincolnton to the south.

The history of Morrisville can be traced back to 1792 when General James Moore established a trading post on what is now known as Moore's Creek Road. The town began to grow rapidly in the early 1800s due to its location on the Charlotte- Durham rail line. By 1875, Morrisville had become an incorporated town with a population of 1,500. In 1906, Morristown hosted its first annual agricultural fair which continues today as one of the largest events in Burke County.
