Bascom is a small town in Stark County, Ohio, that has seen its share of growth over the years. Bascom was founded in 1812 and at its peak had a population of 1,000 people. However, due to the decline of manufacturing in the area and other factors, Bascom's population has dwindled to just over 600 people today. Despite this decline, Bascom has managed to maintain its small-town feel by keeping its infrastructure relatively intact.

Bascom is located in northeastern Stark County near the intersection of State Route 531 and State Route 741. The town is bordered by Canton to the north and east, Massillon to the south and west, and Youngstown to the northwest. Bascom is home to several businesses including a grocery store, gas station/convenience store, two churches (one Catholic and one Protestant), a post office/general store combo building (which also houses Bascom's only bank), a hardware store/garden center, an ice cream shop/deli (which also houses Bascom's only pizzeria), as well as several other small businesses.
