Camden, OH

Camden is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 41,821. It is part of the Cleveland- Akron- Canton Combined Statistical Area.

Camden was founded in 1818 and named for Charles Pratt Camden, 3rd Viscount Camden. The city's economy has been based on manufacturing (particularly rubber and tire production), retail trade, and health care services. In recent years, however, the city's economy has diversified with new businesses such as information technology and biotechnology firms locating there.

The City of Camden operates under a council-manager form of government with an elected mayor and six council members who serve four-year terms. The mayor appoints a City Manager to administer day-to-day operations of the city government.

The City of Camden owns and operates its own water supply system; sewer system; streetlights; parks; recreation facilities including two public pools; three tennis courts; one basketball court; one football field; two baseball diamonds; one softball diamond; eight playgrounds including one for children with disabilities ; nine miles (14 km) of paved streets ; over 100 miles (160 km)of sidewalks ; more than 1 million square feet (100,000 m²)of commercial space including office buildings , industrial plants , warehouses , restaurants , night clubs etc.; more than 2 million square feet (200,000 m²)of residential space .
