Edon is a small town in Lorain County, Ohio, located about 25 miles northeast of Cleveland. The population was 2,868 at the 2010 census.
Edon was founded in 1836 by Ebenezer and Asahel Edson. The town was named for Edward Coles, an early settler. The first business in Edon was a general store operated by Ebenezer Edson and his son Asahel. In 1851, the railroad came to Edon and the town began to grow rapidly as a result. By 1870, there were already 20 businesses in Edon.
