Warren is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, located in Warren County. The population was 21,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

Warren was founded in 1811 and named for General Joseph Warren, who fought in the American Revolution. The city's economy has been based on manufacturing and agriculture until recent decades when it has become more diversified with a strong healthcare sector and growing technology sector. The city is home to two major employers: Procter & Gamble and GE Aviation Services.

The city's history can be traced back to 1811 when General Joseph Warren founded the town after his successful campaign against British forces at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Boston, Massachusetts. At that time, Warren consisted of just a few families living near present-day Elm Street and Spring Street NW (now known as " Warren Avenue"). In 1815, Warren became an official town with a population of about 200 people; by 1850 it had grown to 1,500 residents. In 1851, Warren erected its first public building – a log courthouse – on what is now Main Street NW (now known as "Court Square"). This building served as both court house and town hall until 1870 when it was replaced by a new brick courthouse located on Court Square NW (now known as "City Hall Plaza").

In 1865, Warren erected its first waterworks system which supplied water to homes and businesses throughout the town; this system remains operational today. In 1870-1871, Warren constructed its first railroad depot which served as both freight depot and passenger station; this depot remains operational today under Amtrak's National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak).

In 1886-1887, Warren built its first public school which still operates today – originally called "The District School" before being renamed " Warren High School" in 1961; it is one of only two high schools operated by the City of Warrens Department of Public Works & Utilities (DPW&U).

In 1907-1908, construction began on what would become downtown Warren – originally consisting of just four buildings: City Hall Plaza/Courthouse/Waterworks Building/Railroad Depot; these buildings are still standing today although their original uses have changed over time: City Hall Plaza now houses administrative offices for DPW&U while Railroad Depot now houses an art gallery operated by local artist Lenny Kravitz while Waterworks Building now houses apartments owned by Mercy Housing Partners LLC while Court Square NW now contains several restaurants including Rookwood Inn & Tavern which opened in 2013 after being closed for several years due to extensive damage caused by Hurricane Sandy in 2012).

Since 1970-1971 when Interstate 75 was constructed through central Ohio linking Cleveland with Cincinnati via Columbus), downtown Warren has seen significant growth – most notably due to development along I-75 including construction of upscale shopping malls such as The Mall at Tuttle Crossing (opened in 1978) and West Chester Township Premium Outlets (opened in 2003); additionally numerous highrise office buildings have been constructed including One America Tower (opened in 2001), Park Towers II & III (both opened in 2006), Park Tower IV & V (both opened in 2009), Park Towers VI & VII (both opened in 2014), Park Towers VIII & IX(both opening later this year)and One Liberty Place(opening next year).
