Duncan, OK

Duncan is a small town located in northeast Oklahoma. The population was just over 2,000 people in the 2010 census. Duncan is a farming community that has seen its share of growth over the years. The town's economy is based largely on agriculture and real estate.

The Duncan area was first settled in 1887 by James and Martha ( Porter) Duncan. The Duncans were pioneers who opened up the area for farming and ranching. In 1906, the town of Duncan was established when the railroad came through the area. At that time, Duncan had a population of about 100 people.

Today, Duncan is a thriving small town with a growing economy based largely on agriculture and real estate. The majority of residents are farmers or ranchers who raise cattle, pigs, horses, and chickens. There are also several businesses located in Duncan including two grocery stores, two gas stations/convenience stores, two banks, an insurance company, and a hospital.
