Hollis, OK

Hollis is a small town located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. The population was 2,853 as of the 2010 census. Hollis is located in northeastern Tulsa County and is bordered by Bartlesville to the north, Jenks to the east, and Broken Arrow to the south.

The town of Hollis was founded in 1907 by J.D. Hollis and his wife, Lula Mae (Logan). J.D. Hollis was a cattleman who decided to settle in this area because of its fertile land and abundance of water resources. The town's name honors J.D.'s father-in-law, Hiram Hollis, who served as governor of Oklahoma Territory from 1892-1896.

Today, Hollis is a thriving community with a diversified economy that includes agriculture (cotton), oil and gas production, manufacturing (auto parts), retail sales (clothing stores and restaurants), and service industries (health care). The town's main thoroughfare is Main Street which runs north-south through the center of town. There are also several side streets that intersect Main Street at various angles making it easy for residents to get around town quickly.
