Mahanoy City, PA

Mahanoy City is a borough in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 10,898 at the 2010 census. Mahanoy City is located at 40°5′38″N 76°51′2″W / 40.091667°N 76.867833°W / 40.091667; -76.867833 (40.092778, -76.872222).

The borough of Mahanoy City was incorporated on April 12, 1892 from portions of the townships of Mahanoy and Pottsville and the boroughs of Shenandoah and Tamaqua ( Schuylkill County). The borough's name is derived from the Mahanoy Creek which flows through it and empties into the Schuylkill River near Reading, Pennsylvania.

Mahanoy City is located in southeastern Schuylkill County at the eastern edge of the Lehigh Valley region and adjacent to Bethlehem Township to the south and east; Tamaqua Borough to the north; Shenandoah Borough to the west; Pottsville Borough to the northwest; and Reading Township to the northeast.
