Orwigsburg, PA

Orwigsburg is a small town in Berks County, Pennsylvania, located about 45 minutes from Philadelphia. The population was 2,948 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Reading metropolitan area.

The town's economy is based on agriculture and tourism. There are several wineries in the area, including Orwigsburg Vineyards and Winery, which was founded in 1978 by the late Jack Orwigsberg. The winery produces both red and white wines. There are also several bed-and-breakfasts and restaurants in Orwigsburg that cater to tourists.

Orwigsburg has a number of historic buildings that are worth visiting, including the Old Stone House (built circa 1740), which is now a museum; the Christ Lutheran Church (built 1814); and the Glessner Mansion (built circa 1820). The Glessner Mansion was once home to industrialist Andrew Glessner who made his fortune in coal mining and railroads. Today it is open to visitors as a museum with exhibits on early American life and architecture.
