Emory, TX

Emory is a small town located in Williamson County, Texas. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Emory is known for its rolling hills and fertile farmland. The town was founded in 1892 by William and Martha Emory. The town was named after Dr. James Emory, a prominent physician and educator who served as the first president of the University of Georgia.

The economy of Emory is based largely on agriculture and tourism. The town is home to several wineries, including White Oak Vineyards, which has been producing wine since 1978. There are also several bed-and-breakfasts in the area catering to tourists interested in experiencing small-town life.
