Falls City is a small town located in Williamson County, Texas. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Falls City is home to the historic courthouse square and the historic Masonic Lodge. The town was founded in 1854 by James Fenton and named for its location near the falls of the Brazos River.

The area around Falls City has been inhabited for thousands of years by various cultures of Native Americans including the Wichita, Comanche, Kiowa, and Apache. European settlers first arrived in 1819 when Stephen Fenton established a trading post on what is now known as Main Street. In 1854 James Fenton settled in what would become Falls City and founded a store which became the town's main business district. The town's original name was "Fenton's Landing", but it was changed to " Falls City" after local resident James Fenton donated land for a public square and Masonic Lodge.

Today Falls City is a small town with a strong community spirit. The downtown area features several businesses including an antique store, two restaurants, two banks, and two gas stations. There are also several churches in Falls City including Presbyterian Church (1887), United Methodist Church (1892), First Baptist Church (1898), Catholic Church (1902), and Evangelical Free Church (1910).

The economy of Falls City is based largely on agriculture with crops such as cotton, corn, wheat, soybeans, alfalfa hay production being major contributors to the local economy. However since 1990 there has been significant growth in tourism with visitors coming to see attractions such as the courthouse square which features several historical buildings including the old jailhouse which now houses city offices;the old post office;and the old bank building which now houses an art gallery..
