South Jordan, UT

South Jordan is a city located in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. The population was 63,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the South Jordan- West Jordan Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The city was founded in 1971 and incorporated on October 12, 1978. It was named after the town of South Jordan, Utah which had been settled by Mormon pioneers in 1851. The city's slogan is "The Gateway to the Great Salt Lake."

South Jordan is home to two major shopping malls: The Promenade at South Jordan and Valley Fair Mall. Other notable businesses include Dixie State University (a four-year university), several medical centers and a large number of restaurants and retail stores catering to both locals and tourists alike.

Real estate prices in South Jordan are generally higher than those found in neighboring cities such as Sandy or West Valley City because of its proximity to downtown Salt Lake City as well as its excellent schools and infrastructure. Additionally, many new homes being built in South Jordan are luxury homes due to its high-quality neighborhoods such as Eagle Ridge Estates and Bridlewood Ranch Estates which offer stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains from their yards or front porches.
